Air Source Heat Pumps

A heat pump, when matched with an air handler, is an excellent alternative for both heating and cooling your home. Heat pumps work in the same way as an air conditioner during summer months, but when it’s time to start up the heat, a heat pump kicks in. This unit reverses the flow of refrigerant causing the heat pump to draw in warm outdoor air and transfers it inside your house. Though it may be difficult to believe there is enough warm outdoor air during the winter to heat your home, heat pumps typically operate down to 10-20 degrees.

What makes this such a great matchup with electric furnaces is that it saves on your electric bill during those mild winter months. Electric furnaces can mean a costly electric bill, but once matched with a heat pump it can lower those bills to a reasonable amount!
